Once in 180 Seconds

Mixed media

With simple physics principles, it records the sound of the collision between objects. The work shows the moment an object hits the glass, and with a simple device, it shows the possibilities in the jangling of objects.

Once in 180 Seconds 01

Arduino board, wood, brass, glass
Size: 60 x 20 x 15 cm

When the water from the upper glass container drips to the lower one, due to the change in water volume, the sound of the metal rod hitting the glass changes accordingly.

Once in 180 Seconds 02

Arduino board, wood, brass, glass
Size: 50 x 35 x 15 cm

Water drips from the upper container to the slant board, sliding slowly to the lower container, the metal rod hits both containers as the same time, the sounds they make vary according to their respective volumes.

Once in 180 Seconds 03

Arduino board, wood, brass, glass, ink, Xuan paper

Size: 65 x 20 x 15 cm

A drop of ink is added to the water in the upper container, slowing dripping down, and the Xuan paper records the
changes in the saturation of ink.
